Mission Statement

The Mission of River Valley Primary Care Services is to provide quality comprehensive and preventative health care to all community residents without regard to their ability to pay.           

River Valley Primary Care Services is a non-profit Federally Funded Health Center organization with clinic locations in Ratcliff, Fort Smith, Mulberry, Mountainburg, Lamar, Waldron, Clarksville, Lavaca, Bonanza and Coal Hill, Arkansas. River Valley Primary Care Services has assembled a team of excellent doctors, dentists, and healthcare professionals to create an inviting Health Care Home where hopes and dreams of good health can soar. River Valley Primary Care Services is based on the commitment to provide quality comprehensive and preventative health care that is affordable to all people in Arkansas, including those with insurance, those without, and those that are underinsured. River Valley Primary Care Services helps people connect with services that can help them, including the Prescription Assistance Program, Sliding Fee Scale Program, Medicaid Outstation Assistance, Food Stamp Applications, and WIC Applications. River Valley Primary Care Services has created a Health Care Home with dignity and respect for the health and well-being of all individuals that we serve.

At River Valley Primary Care Services, we are proud of our accomplishments, including:

 

  • River Valley Primary Care Services has successfully recruited a full team of the finest dentists, doctors, and healthcare professionals.

  • Over the past five years our Health Care Home has grown to six clinics, and we will add more in the future.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services had a greater than 40% increase in office visits by uninsured patients in 2010. State funding helped us in providing services to the uninsured. 

  • Our Diabetes Management Program in collaboration with Health Disparities Initiatives of UAMS has been successful in significantly improved blood sugar levels in our participants.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services has established the Cardiac Hypertension Collaborative with the goal of a documented reduction in high blood pressure.

  • Over 13,000 patients now call RVPCS their health care home.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services has assisted our patients to receive the prescription medication that they need at affordable prices with our Prescription Assistance Program. This program has assisted in savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars for patients with the greatest need.

  • Received loan from the United States Department of Agricultural Rural Development to acquire facility located in Ratcliff, Logan County, Arkansas in April 2010, resulting in a cost savings of over $50,000 annually.

  • Expansion of Northside Clinic completed in January 2010 and included 8 additional exam rooms and attached pharmacy.  Added a full time pediatrician with increased capacity.  Onsite pharmacy services have improved access, convenience and compliance with treatment plans.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services added a school based clinic in Lamar. The Lamar Wellness Center opened in the beginning of 2014.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services Medical Director celebrated his 51st year of practicing medicine during 2010.  He oversees a staff of 15 full time providers, continue to see patients and is a champion of electronic medical records in our organization.

  • John Williams, M.D. has stepped down as Medical Director. Mrs. Kelli Rippy, M.D. has stepped up and is now Medical Director for RVPCS as of October 2014.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services, Inc. received level 2 recognition through PCMH (Patient Centered Medical Home) for all locations as of June 14, 2015.

  • RVPCS re-opened the original Northside Clinic as Northside Clinic at 6th Street in the first half of 2016. 

  • Kelli Rippy has stepped down as Medical Director and Shawn Miller, MD has stepped up as Medical Director as of May 1, 2017.

  • RVPCS switched Electronic Medical Records (EMR) from SuccessEHS to EPIC as of September 11, 2017. 

  • River Valley Primary Care Services added a clinic in Waldron.  Waldron Family Clinic opened in May 2018.

  • Shawn Miller, MD has stepped down as Medical Director and Nathan Bennett, MD has stepped up as Medical Director as of April 1, 2019.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services added another clinic in Clarksville.  Clarksville Community Health Center opened on April 1, 2019.

  • Lavaca Wellness Center opened on October 1, 2019.

  • Bonanza Wellness Center was added and opened on June 8, 2020.

  • RVPCS  added Clarksville Behavioral Health Clinic in July of 2021.

  • River Valley Primary Care Services opened a RVPCS Care Coordinator Office in Bonanza, AR in September of 2021. 

  • Coal Hill Family Clinic on December 6, 2021.
